Chaos
Chance’s first Chaos was first produced in 1996, with just over 50 rides being built till production ceased in 2007.
Like Chance’s Turbo and Zipper, the ride movements involve the random balance of its cars on an axis. The ride consists of what Chance describes as “a three-dimensional rocking, rolling and rotating motion” as two-person bucket seats flip around freely, while attached to a main wheel with an electric, variable speed drive (holding 18 twin-seats), that varies in angle hydraulically.
The ride is very well presented with a good colour and light scheme. Unlike the Zipper, the seats are totally restrictive on body movement with an ‘over-the-shoulder’ restrain system.
Upholding Chance’s reputation for easy portability, the complete ride racks up on a single trailer.
I work a Chaos at my job so if you like I can provide a photo of the controls etc.

This ride was fun. I know they took one out of Hershey Park, but I believe Cedar Point has one. Pretty cool Chance ride.

The rides where mechanical nightmares with numerous incidents and were too costly to maintain.

I remeber Clementon Park had 1 of these wild rides
mb - July 21st, 2010 at 12:24 am
We had one for 10 years, was a trailer mount, but in a permanent location.
I had great comments on the ride, but between the updates and frequent parts replacements, and that quite a few were being pulled out of service, we opted to do the same.
Replaced it with a Moser Flipping Action Arm.

I rode this ride when it first debuted many years ago. It was a lot of fun and unique. Few years ago I rode it again. It aged a lot. Due to the age it wasn’t as smooth. It didn’t spin as fast either.
This ride is more fun at night as the many lights on the ride provide eye candy.

“Mayhem” seems Like a better name for this ride, and if you’re fan of “Thrillville: Off the Rails ” you’d know exactly what I mean. :)

As Red and many others pointed out, The Chaos was a mechanics nightmare. We had one for about 3 years and traded it in for the Chance Inverter. I think we spent more money on its maintenance than it actually made.

“Cedar Point does not have one Justin and A.J.”
They had one, but they sold it. I haven’t been to Circus Circus (Las Vegas) in a while, but I know they had one as well.

does any one have specs on this ride ?…or sales page
chris - December 24th, 2012 at 5:05 am
This was my favorite ride. I saw it at Ceder Point in 2008 on an 8th grade end of the school year trip and rode it a few times and loved it. Hadn’t gotten to go back since. My mom and I were planning on going to Ceder Point sometime this year with some family and friends and I decided to look and see if there were any new thrill rides added besides the Wind Seeker since I was there last only to see that Chaos was not on the list. I did some searching and found out that Chaos was taken out for good. I’m quite sad to see it go and am hoping someone makes a similar one that doesn’t wind up malfunctioning.

can i have all rides quotation please want to buy them
roselyn - June 3rd, 2013 at 4:48 pm
Yes, Dylan, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk had the same one Belmont Park had. They are Sister Parks. It was too much of a Problematic nightmare for whatever reason. Belmont & Seaside had no desire to continually replace her broken parts, How Sad. She was a great ride. I worked at Seaside (Or as you know it “Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk”) for a season. I was there when “She” was built.. til her Demise. R.I.P Good Ship Chaos!
Adam - June 28th, 2013 at 7:23 pm
this ride (chaos was removed from michigans adventure amusement park in muskegan ,mi after it broke of while spinning and injured more than a dozen people. it was removed from every amusement park after this happen.
tara merlau - August 4th, 2013 at 1:28 pm
I rode only one and that was at the CNE in 2011. I hadn’t seen one after that. One problem with the one at the CNE is that most of it’s restraints were broken.
John Brooks - October 4th, 2013 at 9:05 am
This is The best ride ever I love it Soo much and I know there is still one in Vegas inside the park it’s amazing went on it like 10 times ??????
Kimmie - May 11th, 2014 at 4:39 pm
I worked a trailer mount actually the one hooked to the truck above. This is a ride riddled with nightmares but when it works right it’s an awesome ride. I had harness issues for the longest time even had a girl fall out of the ride. We always opened the outer cage while the ride was coming to a stop and a harness released while the ride was still moving and the tubs were still rocking. I got to scrap parts off the park model that was sitting at the chance factory that the whole wheel came off and killed a bunch of people. Knowing what I know about the ride it’s good they are being removed and scrapped. They are fun when they work right but very dangerous when they are not and they seem to be in dysfunction mode more times than not.
John - November 7th, 2014 at 2:14 pm
they still have a chaos at calaway park Calgary Canada, but it wasn’t opened for half the 2015 season, they end it ended up opening it up with only nine carts instead of 20…they got this ride in 2006 and it felt smooth until this year and at the end of the ride sometimes it would feel like its bouncing up and down…….but its still my favorite ride at the park
Jehad - September 25th, 2015 at 2:15 pm
John, you worked for Farrow too? I was on their Banzai for a few year, then on the big orange giant wheel. Ya know, this Chaos STILL travels with them? And still makes it’s appearance at almost all of NAME’s southern spots. Just like, that ol’ tired Banzai haha
