“people have died on this ride” Sorry, I never knew people had die in a top spin. Here im Brazil, there were some accidents with this ride, one of them at Playcenter (São Paulo)in 1995, when a boy falled from one called Space Loop. And Ive ridden a top
6 times (called Terminator), its a great machine!
OPS, CORRECTING!!! “..people have died on this ride” Sorry, I never knew people have die in a top spin. Here in Brazil, there were some acci
dents with this ride, one of them at Playcenter (São Paulo)in 1995, when a boy falled from one called Space Loop, and some others in different places, in seaside cities, a top launched 5 peo
ple to the sand of the park. And I’ ve ridden a top 6 times (called Terminator), its a great machine!
Look this ride spin dragon injured 48 people at the royal adelide show and has been rebuilt and named spin dragon this is 2014. So the ride is back but rebuilt originally the accident was the bolts that fell out. So the platform fell and so did the riders. The ride caught a couple of bystander s which is how it is 48.
DONT GO ON THIS RIDE
Unless you can trust this rise but I can’t not after hearin that 48 people injured on this ride but you never know people can be very brave.
I do believe that not a single person who has commented above knows what they are talking about.
One does have to laugh at the lack of lives people have.
-Nobody Died
-Twas 37 People and quite a few of those were exadurated,
-It built in Italy and was imported from the USA in 1996 after 1 year there and not being very popular. Named the Top Spin from new and renamed Spin Dragon in 1998 or 99 (Never was a popular name and was only changed to draw more riders)
-It crashed 7.30pm Sept 2 2000 and has not been used since. It was impounded for a HUGE length of time, sitting outside and decaying, finally being released once all court proceedings were done.
-Wittingslow Amusements owned this ride and broke their company into 2 sepperate companies within weeks of the Spin Dragon accident, neither half retaining the name “Wittingslow Amusements” so as to avoid law suits.
Somehow it worked. Insurance paid, but Wittingslow was never quite the same.
-Anybody who worked for Wittingslow at the time knows just how awful the situation was and how much it impacted all involved and all at the company.
Hopefully this shines some light on things 23 years later.
this is the one that droped the boat with people onto the ride platform a few years back
